Pro-Buftea Moderna Association was created from the
desire to organize events for the public, as it was noticed that the state,
through its institutions, is still not sufficiently well organized in these
areas.
The President of this association is Giorgio Panico, a
citizen of Italian origin who wanted to build something positive for his
adoptive country, in this case through this association.
The primary purpose of the association is to organize
cultural/sports events.
These events can be organized exclusively by the
association or in collaboration with other associations, individuals, and
public institutions.
Among the most important events organized by the Pro Buftea Moderna are:
- “A different Milonga”, central square, in front of Buftea City Hall, 2013;
- An action consisting of food collection for an orphanage in Romania, 2013;
- “A different Milonga”, organized in the restaurant Jacky’ O, Bucharest, 2014;
- “Milonga gift”, in collaboration with “Queen Margaret” Foundation, 2014;
- Argentinean Tango Show on Women’s Day, Henry Coanda Airport, 2014;
- Argentinean Tango Flashmob on Women’s Day, Henry Coanda Airport, 2014;
- Dance Theatre “Zaraza” , Buftea Theatre and Cercul Militar (military building), 2014;
- “555 Bucharest dance”, 3 dance evenings (latino, social, tango), Old Centre, Lipscani, Bucharest, 2014;
- “History of a lost Love Festival”, co-organizer/partner, 2014;
- Argentinean Tango Show on Women’s Day, Henry Coanda Airport, 2015;
- Argentinean Tango Show on Aviation Day, Aurel Vlaicu Airport, 2015.
- Tango Bucharest Days Festival first edition 2015
There are currently at the planning stage the following two events:
- Tango Bucharest Days Festival second edition 2016 (in progress)
- Milonga Primii Pasi ( a milonga for beginners, 1 per month, works in progress)
The activity is supported through volunteering by a
team of people who are valuable professionals in their areas of activity. There
is a core group of people, but depending on the event and availability, other
volunteers can also join the existing core group.
All the above projects were possible thanks to this
group of people of good will.
